Leigh Campbell-Wan
M.Sc (Psychology), B.Sc. (Hons), BPS, COSCA

As a highly qualified and motivated coach, I am passionate about providing a first-rate service to my clients.

I am Leigh Campbell-Wan, founder of Kurīa Coaching. I have previously worked in pharmaceutical research, had a brief spell in the creative industries, been a stay-at-home mum, and have been a partner in a successful restaurant business. However, life has not always been plain-sailing and I've had my own struggles with confidence issues, perfectionism, imposter syndrome and lack of purpose. Coaching helped me to turn my life around and now I love to give back and help others.  Educated in Psychology to Masters level and holder of a professionally-recognised coaching qualification, I bring my knowledge and experience to support you in finding clarity and overcoming self-limiting beliefs to help you reach your full potential and find your own path to happiness and fulfilment.

Working together, we can address issues such as overwhelm, relationship or family issues, career difficulties, creativity challenges or lack of motivation or direction. I provide a non-judgemental safe space to gently challenge and support you in establishing and working towards your goals - however big or small.

Why work with me?

With a sea of coaches out there, it is important that you find someone that you trust and can gel with. Having been on my own voyage of self-discovery, I realised that I could give something back and trained through a professionally-accredited program to become a coach. Authenticity is one of my strongest held values and I simply wouldn't be comfortable offering a service without first gaining a deep understanding of its foundations.

I found myself approaching my mid forties without a career that excited me and besides being a parent to two wonderful girls, without much sense of purpose. The prospect of reinventing myself and my career at this stage in life was terrifying but the alternative was more so! Building on years of experience in scientific research, predominantly in the field of drug development for mental disorders, I was drawn to gaining a better understanding of mental health as opposed to mental illness and I returned to Glasgow University to study an MSc in Psychological Science. The return to full time higher education was a daunting experience, further compounded by the global COVID pandemic and resulting lock-downs which saw me juggling full-time studies with home-schooling my kids. Somehow I got through it and graduated with distinction and a new fire in my belly for all things related to mental wellness, resilience and reaching our full human potential!

Through my study of psychology and my work as a coach I've realised that as a species, human beings have many more similarities than differences. We all have the same basic motivations and are all subject to self-doubt and at times,  self-sabotage. This realisation helps me to work with clients to understand the root of their dissatisfaction and their difficulties in moving towards their goals. I feel very privileged to be able to support my clients find the best way forward for them and to empower them to move towards a life of fulfilment!
